In my English major, there was a few classes in which I had to write in depth papers analyzing texts, and cross analyzing texts, Here are two examples of writing I have done for two different classes to demonstrate my skills as a writer and critical thinker.

The first sample is a paper I wrote in my "Milton" class where I discuss John Milton's "Samson Agonistes" and the place of misogyny and the female presence in the text.

The second sample is a paper I wrote for my "Intro to the Short Story" course where I cross analyzed James Joyce's "The Sisters" and Flannery O' Connor's "Everything that Rises Must Converge" where I talked about the place of repressed emotions in the story and the character's confrontation of their repressed emotions.
